1. Use URSUS (http://ursus.maine.edu/) to find books about your topic

Use keywords from your topic
When you find a suitable book, use the subject terms in the book record for further searches in URSUS

2. To find articles about your topic, use the online databases at http://library.umaine.edu/indexesdb/Indexes.asp

3. To identify appropriate databases for your topic, use the subject portals, subject guides or the drop-down menu at http://library.umaine.edu/indexesdb/Indexes.asp

The following are some of the databases you can use to find scholarly articles:

4. Use the advanced search option in the databases for your searches

Limit your search to scholarly articles where available
Use varying terms, e.g.: "verbal aggressiveness" or "verbal aggression" or "verbal aggress*"
When you find a suitable article, take note of the subject headings and use those for better database searches
Look at the references at the end of the articles for other relevant sources
