Series include transcripts of speeches, interviews, press conferences, and congressional testimony; text of reports, announcements, and news articles; press advisories and correspondent memoranda; and copies of related correspondence. The material on both disks is duplicated from seven bound volumes entitled Public Statements of William S. Cohen Secretary of Defense and provided by the Historical Office, Office of the Secretary of Defense. The four volumes for 1999 are not included in electronic format.

The CD labeled "1997" (325 MB with 43 folders or 550 files) has three main menu options. The following folders are linked to provide access to the documents:

Vol. I, December 1996-April 26, 1997.  

Vol. II, April 28, 1997 to July 14, 1997. 

Vol. III, July 9, 1997 to December 29, 1997.
