Timetable for the Cancel Project: Fiscal Year 2002

 

February - Library budget analysis and proposal for FY2003 begins.

March - Library staff reviews prior ranking recommendations for University faculty, providing updated cost information and usage data as well as cross-checking for duplicate titles.  

April 24th - Announcements and letter from the Dean of Libraries and Cultural Affairs to the University Community.  The two lists of proposed titles for cancellation mounted on this web site and distributed in paper form to the colleges.  The University community will have three weeks to review the two lists and provide comments on individual titles they would like the library to retain. 

May 14th - All lists should be returned to the Dean of Libraries and Cultural Affairs.

May 17th - Revised lists for subscriptions ranked '2' and subscriptions ranked '1' costing more than $7000 will be prepared and mounted on the web based on the above comments by the University community.  (Netscape 4.7 users see pdf formatted files for ranked '2' and ranked '1')

May 22nd -  Deadline for responses to those registering objections.  

May 24th - The final cancellation list will be presented.  

June - Library Serials Department begins communicating cancellations to publishers and vendors.

January 2003 - Cancellations take effect.
