Serials Collection Review 2008 |
For Fiscal Year 2009, beginning July 1, 2008, Fogler Library's anticipated
annual serials expenditures are $3,710,500. The Library should be able to continue
its current subscriptions and standing orders, because the University has
committed to provide $350,000 for library acquisitions
to cover inflation for the next fiscal year.
The Library maintains a watch list of serial titles for which changes are
recommended in FY08. At this time (July 2008) there are proposed changes
for 2009, but no cancellations.
However, many vendors announce subscription price changes for the next calendar
year in the summer or fall of the preceding year. The library's final serials renewal lists for 2008 must be sent to
our vendors
by September 8, 2008; any changes (such as format, cancellations, additions)
must be made by then.
Requests for new subscriptions continue to be added to the existing
request
list, which will be consulted if additional funds
become available. Use the Journal Recommendation Form.
