Serial Changes for 2011

The following changes are proposed for calendar year 2011 subscriptions:

Project MUSE duplicate print subscriptions

The library would like to re-visit with faculty the possibility of eliminating some or all of the 58 duplicate print subscriptions that we are now paying for twice: once for print and once for online in Project MUSE. This would save approximately $7,000, which will cover the additional expense for our 2010 upgrade to the complete Project MUSE collection. Our statistics show Project MUSE is heavily used. Perpetual access to these and all of the other online journals within Project MUSE is secured via the University of Maine's membership in Portico.

The following titles are the duplicate subscriptions for which the library also has on online subscription in Project MUSE:

The library proposes switching format for the following journals from this publisher to online-only starting in 2011. The small cost savings would be used to purchase and access the online journal archive 1952-1996. Perpetual access to online SIAM journals is secured via Portico.
