Media Resource Center to Add Viewing Room
Since last year's addition of digital camcorders and editing equipment, the Media Resource Center's popularity has grown as students take full advantage of the new equipment. Now, the Center has plans to add a high-tech viewing room to it's roster of resources.

Lynch University Club), the former Multimedia Lab, on the first floor of the Library, will be remodeled into a viewing room. The viewing room will be a place for students and faculty to view DVDs, VHS, and the Resource Center's extensive VD (videodisc) collection. The room will be equipped with state-of-the-art viewing and listening capabilities, including a plasma-display, wall-mounted television and a surround sound speaker system.
In addition to the new viewing room, the Media Resource Center hopes to compile a DVD collection, also for student use. Media Resource Center Director Bill Meloy said, "In the spirit of Mr. Lynch's bequest, the Center is developing a DVD collection of professional opera, musical and other dramatic productions for use in conjunction with University productions and courses, as well as MCA events." He also said, "This room will provide the campus with very high-end video and audio equipment for presentations of all sorts."
Other future plans for the Center include the purchase of a recorded books collection, which would be part of a rotating collection shared with local public libraries.
