| Google Scholar is a free search tool that will connect you to scholarly resources. It cannot be limited to peer reviewed journals. |
| Connecting to UMaine Online Journals |
| 1. Connect Google Scholar to UMaine online journals through our indexes and databases. |
| 2. If you connect directly to Google Scholar, you will need to connect to add Library Links through the Settings |

| 3. To open articles click on the Full Text @ My Library link on the right hand side of the article. |
| Hints for Basic Search |
| 2. The default sort for results is by relevancy. You can change this to years. |
| 3. You can limit years to preset spans or create a custom range using links on the left side of the results screen. |

| Hints for Advanced Search |
| 1. To use Advanced Search click on the arrow inside the search box. |
| 2. Advanced provides many options for conducting specific searches including author, publication, and year. |
