Accessing the data
A software program called Choices 3 is used to access the data from the National Consumer Survey.
It is available on the CD-ROM workstation near the Reference Desk on the 1st Floor of the Fogler Library.
To start the program and select a survey:
- There is an icon for "Simmons" on the desktop of the CD-ROM
workstation. Simply double-click on the icon to load the
Choices 3 program.
- When the Choices 3 software loads, the default survey includes only sample data. To access one of the National Consumer Surveys, you must select Survey > Change Survey from the top menu and select the edition you want. Note that each survey comes in two parts: a survey of the entire household (HHLD), and another of individuals (POP).
