A. SCIFINDER SCHOLAR - NOW ON THE WEB
SciFinder Scholar, the expanded electronic version of Chemical Abstracts, is now available on the Web. To use the database, create an account from a computer located on campus. After you complete the registration process, you may access the database from any location with Internet service. For details on creating an account, see the SciFinder guide <http://library.umaine.edu/science/scifinder.htm>.
SciFinder Scholar includes citations and abstracts for journal articles and other materials on chemistry and related areas, including agriculture, biology and medicine, engineering, food science and nutrition, geology, and physics. The database also permits searching by chemical structures and reactions. SciFinder Scholar covers scientific literature from the mid-19th century to present. For more information contact Nancy Curtis <email@example.com> or call 581-1679.
A. WEB PAGE FOR FACULTY
Fogler Library's Faculty Services web page is designed expressly for the needs of our faculty and researchers. It contains links to internal and external services and information that we hope will be useful. You'll find news, announcements, links to Library forms and database trials. Without leaving your office you can request reference assistance via e-mail and arrange interlibrary loan of a book or copies of journal articles not held here. Other helpful information includes faculty liaison librarians for each department, how to schedule bibliographic instruction sessions for your classes, and examples of course guides created for these sessions. Visit the Faculty Services page at <http://www.library.umaine.edu/facultyservices.htm>.
