Center also maintains a list of the titles owned. These books circulate for
three weeks and are checked out from the Center. The format varies by
title, some are audiocassette and some are compact disks.

3. DATABASES
A. WEB OF SCIENCE DATABASE NOW AVAiLABLE
Deborah Rollins, Head of Collection Services, is pleased to announce
that the Web of Science database is now available to University of Maine
faculty, staff, and students. Please link from
http://www.library.umaine.edu/indexesdb/indexes.asp.

The Web of Science provides access to citations and abstracts from the
Science Citation Index Expanded®, Social Sciences Citation Index®, and Arts
& Humanities Citation Index™. It covers current and retrospective
multidisciplinary information from approximately 8,500 of the most
prestigious, high impact research journals in the world. One of its unique
features is cited reference searching, with which users can navigate
forward, backward, and through the literature, searching all disciplines to
uncover information relevant to their research. Fogler Library’s
subscription is from 2000 to present. Important pre-2000 literature that is
still being cited will show up in cited reference searches. A limited number
of users (5) may log on at any one time, so please remember to logout when
through searching.

For search assistance, please contact Jim Bird, Head, Science and
Engineering Center (jim.bird@umit.maine.edu or 581-1697) A workshop for the
University community will be offered in May.u.
