1. DATABASES
A. BIBLIOGRAPHY OF THE HISTORY OF ART (BHA)
BHA is now available online. This international database contains abstracts and
indexes numerous publications in the history of art, including scholarly
journals, conferences, book, exhibition reviews, and exhibition catalogs from
1973 to present. Major areas of coverage include:
. European art from late Antiquity (4th c. A.D.) to present
. American art from European discoveries to present
. Traditional fine arts
. Decorative and applied arts
. Prints, drawing, and sculpture
. Folk and industrial art
. Archaeology
. Architecture and design
. Theater and festivals

2. EVENTS
A. ORONO BICENTENNIAL COOKBOOK CELEBRATION
Fogler Library and the Fogler Library Friends would like to invite you to a
celebration of Orono’s Bicentennial Cookbook Sunday, November 13, 2005, 5 - 7
p.m. in the Thomas Lynch University Club, Fogler Library, The University of
Maine. Celebrate the publication of Orono Cooks!, the cookbook developed by the
Friends of the Orono Public Library in honor of Orono's Bicentennial in 2006.
All recipes on the menu are taken from the cookbook, which will be on sale at
the dinner. Menu will include:
Grace Soup, Cheese Dip with Crudités and Crackers, Hummus Dip with Crudités and
Crackers, Baked Zucchini Squash (vegetarian), Chicken Curry, Seafood Casserole,
Rolled Oat Dinner Rolls, Broccoli-Raisin Salad, Mandarin Orange Salad, a
selection of baked goods and fresh fruit.
$20.00 per person.

A. PROMISE OF ENERGY INDEPENDENCE FORUM FILES AVAILABLE
Presentations given by national and state experts at "The Promise of Energy
Independence" forum earlier this month are now available through the following

Speakers included Susan Tierney who is a member of the National Commission on
Energy Policy and a partner in The Analysis Group in Boston, Helena Chum of the
National Bioenergy Center at the U.S. Department of Energy, Governor John
Baldacci, Denis Bergeron of Efficiency Maine, Dave Wilby of Independent Energy
Producers of Maine, Beth Nagusky of the Governor's Office of Energy
Independence, and Rob Gardiner of the Conservation Law Foundation. The event
was sponsored by Fogler Library with co-sponsors from the College of Business,
the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, The Honors College, and Duke Energy.
