    A. INVITATION TO INTERNATIONAL BUFFET-PROCEEDS SHARED WITH FOGLER LIBRARY
Please join us for an International Buffet, Sunday prepared by members of the Student Heritage Alliance Center, February 26, 2006, 5 - 7 pm in The Thomas Lynch University Club, second floor, Fogler Library. Proceeds will be shared by Fogler Library and SHAC’s Agent Orange Awareness Project.   $20.00 per person. R.s.v.p. by February 17, 2006 (prepaid registration required)

   Appetizers: Olivie Russian Salad (bologna, cucumbers, carrots, green peas, potato, onion, mayonnaise), Nem cuon - Vietnamese Spring Rolls (vegetarian version available);

   Main Course:
Banh chung (Vietnamese square cakes with sticky rice, green beans, pork, and fish sauce; (vegetarian version will be available); Fried Rice (Philippines); Chicken Curry (India); Bun thang (vermicelli soup from Vietnam); Mang xao nam (Vietnamese vegetable stir fry); Mapo Tofu (China); Tushoniy Perec (Korean dish with fried pepper and beef or pork)

   Desserts:
Suong sa (Vietnamese Jell-O); Rice Pudding (Thailand)
   Beverages:
fresh lime juice, green tea

2.   DATABASES
     A. SCIFINDER SCHOLAR UPDATES SEARCH SOFTWARE
2006 versions of the SciFinder Scholar chemical literature search software are available for both Windows and Macintosh platforms. SciFinder Scholar is the expanded electronic version of Chemical Abstracts. It includes citations and abstracts for journal articles and other materials on chemistry and related areas, covering the literature from 1907 to present

Older versions of the software will not be supported after March 31. Updating instructions are posted on the library guide at library.umaine.edu/science/scifinder.htm . The new Macintosh version is an interim release for OS X, with another update scheduled for release later this year, and supports the Safari browser. Macintosh users upgrading their software will need a new copy of the UMaine site preferences file. This file is available on the SciFinder Scholar installation CD-ROM, which can be checked out from the Media Resource Center.
