1. EVENTS
A. WORKSHOP ON CITATION SEARCHING AND USING IMPACT FACTORS
Jim Bird (Head of Science and Engineering) and Cynthia Crosser (Social
Science and Humanities Reference Librarian) will be teaching a workshop on
citation searching in Web of Science and using impact factors in Journal
Citation Report on February 27th from 9 - 10.30 am. in the library classroom. No
fee. To register contact Gretchen Gfeller on First Class (gretchen.gfeller@umit.maine.edu)
or phone 581-1696.
2. ANNOUNCEMENTS
A. URSUS UNAVAILABLE MORNING OF TUESDAY, MARCH 6
The URSUS online library system will be unavailable on the morning of
Tuesday, March 6 for scheduled maintenance (postponed from February 9). All
URSUS modules, including the online catalog, telnet interface, and Millennium
modules will be affected. The maintenance will begin at 5:00 AM, and we hope to
restore service to the URSUS Server in the late morning or early afternoon. We
apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
Please note that with the differing vacation schedules of the universities
represented in the URSUS consortium, as well as the public libraries, it was
impossible to find a date before May on which every library would be closed. I
was, however, able to schedule the migration to begin in the early morning in
order to minimize the downtime during open hours for those libraries who will be
open on this day. We will
work to complete the maintenance as quickly as possible.
