Research Guides: Your Library on a Web Page

Science & Engineering Center librarians have developed twenty-two Research Guides to subject areas important to the University of Maine curriculum and the research interests of faculty and staff. The Guides cover agricultural engineering, agriculture, aquatic science, biochemistry, microbiology, and molecular biology; botany, chemical engineering, chemistry, computer science, electrical engineering, environmental sciences, engineering standards and specifications, food science and nutrition, forestry, geology, mathematics, nursing, ornithology, patents, physics and astronomy, pulp and paper, spatial information sciences and engineering, and transportation. Each Research Guide lists selected print resources held at Fogler Library, links to Internet resources accessible to the University of Maine community through library subscription, and links to publicly available Internet resources. The Guides direct Library users to a variety of resources, including databases and indexes, dictionaries and glossaries, handbooks and manuals, directories, and virtual libraries. To recommend a print or Internet resource for inclusion in one of our Research Guides, use the e-mail address listed at the end of each Guide to contact its author.
