  • Business Plans & Profiles Index
    Maintained by the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, Business Plans and Profiles Index directs users to copies of business plans. Indexes the Business Plans Handbook (vols 1-11 online, vols 12-13 in print), Bplans.com, and other Internet and print sources (e.g., Model Business Plans for Service Businesses). Arranged by industry category (e.g., Advertising, Medical Office Services). Bold entries indicate sample plans, regular type indicates profiles only. Links to online full text plans (if available). If full text is not available online, citation is provided.


  • Business Plans Handbook (REF HD62.7 .B865)
    A popular print source currently up to 13 volumes, each book contains 20-25 actual business plans.  Plans average 10-30 pages long. The website Reference for Business provides free online access to the first eleven volumes (See Business Plans Handbook).  Volume 12 and volume 13 are available online University of Maine MaineCard cardholders.

    A collection of 21 sample marketing plans for a range of businesses (e.g., Video Store).

    Two volume print resource.  Volume 2 covers small business topics (e.g., ) and state/federal small business assistance agencies and organizations.  Volume 1 contains 340 small business profiles (e.g., Christmas Decoration Store).  Profiles cover the following types of resources:
