Databases for Articles

There are several databases that are useful for kinesiology and physical education students and faculty. These databases can be accessed in the library or remotely from your home computer. You will need to enter the number on the back of your Maine Card in order to access the databases remotely. Your Maine Card must be activated by the circulation desk before the databases will let you connect. Activation is done automatically if you check out a book from circulation. If you have not checked out a book since the fall semester please remember to have your card activated at the circulation desk. This needs to be done every year since the records are purged in the summer. 

• SPORTDiscuss - Articles, books, and multimedia covering all aspects of sports including training, injuries, and recreation from 1800-present.
• Physical Education Index- Articles, books, journal articles and conference proceeding on physical education, sports medicine, kinesiology from 1970--present
• MEDLINE - Journal articles on clinical and experimental medicine (including injuries)  from 1966-present
• ERIC - Journal articles and abstracts on educational research from 1966-present
• PsycINFO - Professional and academic literature in psychology and related fields from 1887-present
