Biographical Information:

Stephen King is a well known American author. He was born in Portland, Maine in 1947 and lived with his family in Indiana and Connecticut before settling in Durham, Maine at age 11.  He is a graduate of the University of Maine, Class of 1970, and he received an honorary doctorate in 1987.  While a student at the University of Maine, he met Old Town, Maine native, Tabitha Spruce (while working in Fogler Library).  They were married in 1971, and have raised three children.  The Kings have two Maine homes, one in Bangor and one in the western Maine town of Center Lovell.
