Historical/Biographical Information:
 
Llewelyn D. P. Palmer was a general of the Maine volunteer militia and commander of the 8th Division. He was an attorney and Athens, Maine Selectman, a Democratic Party official, and the Athens Postmaster. Charles F. H. Green was a Judge of the Somerset County Probate Court and an attorney and law partner to Llewelyn Palmer.
