SUMMARY:The “Long” 18th Century: Making Connections within Gale Primary Sources
DESCRIPTION:DISCOVERING THE “LONG” 18th-CENTURY:\nMaking Connections within Gale Primary Sources\n\nAs part of the 2017 Digital Humanities Week\, this workshop will provide an overview of critical primary sources available to scholars at the University of Maine seeking to enhance their digital humanities research experience. Representatives from Gale will review the Gale Primary Sources platform\, including core primary source databases available through the library. We will also cover recent research enhancements that may not easily be found within the normal library discovery tool environment\, including term frequency\, term clusters\, downloadable OCR\, and other integrated workflow tools. Bring your own laptop\, or use one provided by Fogler Library.

Then come to the Fogler Library Student Book Club\, where we’ll be talking about dystopian fiction\, discussing our favorite and least favorite aspects of this type of story\, and sharing recommendations for dystopian books we enjoyed! \nYou don’t need to have read any particular book to join the conversation; you just need to be interested in dystopian stories. \nAbout the Book Club\nThe Fogler Library Student Book Club is an informal gathering of readers where you can discuss your favorite books and share recommendations with fellow readers.Unlike many book clubs\, you don’t need to have read any specific book to \nUnlike many book clubs\, you don’t need to have read any specific book to join the conversation.
