Indexes and Databases

These electronic databases are licensed by Fogler Library.  Access is limited to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Maine.  Many of these databases provide access to journal article citations and abstracts, with some full text. Check with a librarian for further assistance.

Women and Social Movements, International: 1840 to Present Women and Social Movements, International 1840-Present is a digital collection of primary materials drawn from more than 300 repositories. Through the writings of women activists, their personal letters and diaries, and the proceedings of conferences at which pivotal decisions were made, the database shows how women’s social movements shaped many of the events and attitudes that have defined modern life. It covers issues related to peace, poverty, child labor, literacy, disease prevention, and global inequality
