Indexes and Databases

 

These electronic databases are licensed by Fogler Library.  Access is limited to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Maine.  Many of these databases provide access to journal article citations and abstracts, with some full text. Check with a librarian for further assistance.

JSTORA digital archive of complete backfiles for 360 core scholarly journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Many date from the 19th century. JSTOR's moving wall policy means that there is a gap from 2 to 5 years between the most recently published issue and the date of the most recent issue available in JSTOR.

The University of Maine (Orono) subscribes to Arts & Sciences I, II, III, IV, V, VI, Complement, and Life Sciences.

The University of Southern Maine subscribes to Arts & Sciences I, II, VII and the Music and the Mathematics & Statistics Collections .

The University of Maine at Augusta subscribes to Arts & Sciences I.

The University of Maine at Machias and the University of Maine at Presque Isle subscribe to Arts & Sciences II.

The University of Maine at Farmington subscribes to Arts & Sciences I and III. Arts & Sciences I focuses on humanities and social sciences, with titles in disciplines such as economics, political science, mathematics, sociology, and many more. Arts & Sciences III focuses on the arts and humanities. This resource contains journals in language and literature, as well as important titles in the fields of music, film studies, folklore, performing arts, religion, and the history and study of art and architecture.
