These electronic databases are licensed by Fogler Library.  Access is limited to students, faculty, and staff of the University of Maine.  Many of these databases provide access to journal article citations and abstracts, with some full text. Check with a librarian for further assistance.

U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980The U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980 aids research of U.S. political, social, cultural, military and ethnic history, as well as international relations, explorations, genealogy, commerce, industrial development and much more. Its contents come not only from the U.S. Congress, but also include key Executive Department publications. Beginning with Volume 1 in the first session of the 15th Congress (1817), the Readex U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980 contains all publications from the 15th through the 96th Congresses. Readex's digital edition of the American State Papers, 1789-1838 - which contains every legislative and executive document of the 1st through 14th Congresses and more - both complements the U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980 and is cross-searchable with it. Additionally, OpenURLs enable users to create, view and email a custom collection of complete publications. Upon completion, the U.S. Congressional Serial Set, 1817-1980 will contain nearly 14,000 volumes and more than 12 million pages from the original 350,000 publications, along with 52,000 maps and thousands of illustrations and statistical tables.
