1. Open Access Publishing Workshop

What is open access? How visible is your scholarship online? Did you know that making your work more accessible could lead to a citation advantage? Join UMaine librarians to learn about open access publishing models and options for making your work available online.

2. Grants 101 Workshop

Date & Time: Wednesday, May 10th, 10am-12pm
Location: Fogler Library Classroom

The Office of the Vice President for Research and Fogler Library are offering “Grants101: Seeking, Analyzing, and Writing Basics.” At the workshop, you will:

  • find grants in PIVOT
  • analyze an agency’s Request for Proposals
  • learn Grant Writing Basics

3. Altmetrics Workshop

Date & Time: Thursday, May 11th, 10am-11am
Location: Fogler Library Classroom

Join the UMaine library to find out more about how your work is perceived online. At the workshop, you will learn

  • Ways in which scholarly impact is evolving
  • How to use altmetrics to supplement your publication impact
  • Where to find altmetrics in UMaine resources
  • How deliverables can create a researcher identity online

4. Maine Composts Week Guide and Display

Maine Composts Week, which takes lace May 7th-13th, is an effort to engage the state of Maine in the topics of composting, anaerobic digestion, food insecurity, and materials management. Fogler Library has created companion displays to highlight Maine Composts Week, located in the hallway between the front entrance and the Information Commons. These displays are accompanied by an online guide that features introductory resources to composting and resources related to organic gardening with compost
