1. Guide to Browzine

BrowZine is a tool that allows users to browse, read, monitor, and share articles for many Fogler Library journal titles. This tool allows you to:

  • Easily access many full-text journal articles through Fogler Library
  • Create a personal bookshelf of your “go-to” journals for fast access
  • Save articles in personalized collections
  • Get alerts when new journal issues are published
  • Send articles to citation management or note taking programs
  • Share links with others by email, Facebook or Twitter

2. Tableau Workshop

Date & Time: Tuesday, March 12, 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Location: Fogler Library Classroom 1

Tableau is a data visualization program that offers both quick and flexible ways of visualizing your data. This hands-on session will show you how to turn your datasets to informative, colorful and interactive visualizations.

We recommend bringing fully charged laptops with Tableau Desktop installed. The software is free to download online. Laptops will be available for attendees who need to borrow one.

About the Presenter
Dr. Joseph Clark is a Lecturer of Management Information Systems at the Maine Business School.

3. STEMinism: Women in STEM Book Club
Date & Time: Tuesday, March 12, 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Location: Fogler Library Classroom 2

Join members of the University of Maine Society of Women Engineers to learn about and discuss Famous Ladies in STEM, Bio-Inspired Engineering and Self Advocacy as a Professional. This event is part of the Fogler Library Book Club series. For suggested books and resources related to the discussion, visit the STEMinism: Women in STEM Guide published by Fogler’s Reference and Information Literacy Department.

Please encourage your students or colleagues who are interested in the topic to attend the discussion. 

4. Grants 101: Seeking, Analyzing, and Writing Basics
Date & Time: Tuesday, March 19, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Location: Fogler Library Classroom 1

The Office of Research Development and Fogler Library are sponsoring “Grants 101: Seeking, Analyzing, and Writing Basics.” At the workshop, participants will:

  • search for grants in PIVOT
  • analyze an agency’s Request for Proposals
  • learn grant writing basics
