The Maine InfoNet Download Library (also called CloudLibrary) is a collection of downloadable audiobooks and e-books supported by public, academic, and school library members. Audiobooks and e-books are available to authenticated patrons of the member libraries. Download the app and use your library card barcode number to log in. Apps are available for iOS, Android, Windows, Mac, Kindle Fire, Nook, and Chrome devices.

1. Finding Funding Challenge

Join Fogler Library and the Office of Research Development for the Finding Funding Challenge. Each day, for five days, you will receive an email with tasks designed to build your grant-seeking skills. You will learn how to effectively and efficiently find funding opportunities tailored to your creative and scholarly interests, strategically read a request for proposals, and make your grant proposal a standout.

The program will take place May 3–7. RSVP to participate, and take your grant-seeking skills to the next level. This program may be especially resonant for faculty, staff, and graduate students.

2. New Resource: ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication

The ACS Guide to Scholarly Communication from the American Chemical Society provides students, researchers, educators, and librarians with the instruction and advice they need to master the art of scholarly communication. The new Guide covers all instructions from previous editions of The ACS Style Guide – completely updated and modernized – as well as a wealth of brand new chapters covering everything from preprints, Open Access, machine-readable data, and much more.

3. Publish and Thrive Challenge
May 17 – May 21

Join Fogler Library the week of May 17-21 for the Publish and Thrive Challenge! Each day, for five days, you will receive an email with brief tasks designed to build your publishing acumen, including identifying where to publish and present your work, understanding your rights as an author, and increasing the visibility of your work. Additionally, you will have opportunities to share your own insights and experiences and hear from UMaine faculty and graduate students who are publishing and presenting in a wide range of disciplines. This is an online, asynchronous program, so you can work at your own pace!

RSVP to join us! Everyone is welcome to participate – this Challenge will be especially resonant for graduate students and early career scholars. This program is sponsored by Fogler Library and the Graduate School.
