Fogler librarian hosts forum at the American Library Association’s annual conference

Late last month, Maine Shared Collections Librarian (and University Archivist) Matthew Revitt organized and moderated the Print Archive Network forum at the American Library Association’s Annual Conference. The PAN forum was attended by around 100 librarians interested in subjects related to a library practice known as shared print, whereby libraries commit to retain specific materials in the collections to ensure it remains accessible for the long-term. The forum featured expert library practitioners sharing their experiences of working on library shared print projects, including representatives from the Washington Research Library Consortium, California Digital Library, Eastern Academic Scholars’ Trust, and Center for Research Libraries.

Featured resource: Franco American Library

Franco American Library is a bibliography of the histories of community, ethnicity, immigration, and labor in the United States as they relate to French, French-Canadian, and Franco-American cultures. It is categorized by subject and mapped by location. Franco American Library is produced by the Franco-American Centre at the University of Maine, with the support of Le Centre de la francophonie des Ameriques.
