Lobstermen Interviews Featured on Coastal Conversations

Three oral history interviews from the Northeast Archives of Folklore and Oral History collection were recently featured on Coastal Conversations, a public affairs radio program on WERU Community Radio produced with support from Maine Sea Grant and hosted by Natalie Springuel.  The series explores current issues facing Maine’s coastal communities through conversations with people who live, work, and play on our coast.

This episode, The 1970s Life of Maine Lobstermen, featured audio from interviews with Andy Gove, Tim Staples, and Edwin Lawson.  The program is available in the WERU Radio Archives, and more information about the episode can be found on the Maine Sea Grant web page.

More information about the Northeast Archives of Folklore and Oral History can also be found in our online guide which is updated frequently to provide a list of collections that are now available online.  Or contact Special Collections at 207.581.1686 or um.library.spc@maine.edu.
