Fogler Library patrons now have access to two additional online encyclopedias. The Encyclopedia of Water: Science, Technology, and Society provides a comprehensive, multidisciplinary reference work containing hundreds of articles on topics ranging from the hydrologic cycle and water technology to societal considerations. Written and peer reviewed by experts in the field from around the world, the Encyclopedia features standalone, authoritative, verifiable, carefully edited, well-organized, and accessible content.

The Wiley Blackwell Encyclopedia of Gender and Sexuality Studies provides an invaluable resource for students and scholars in the overlapping areas of gender, feminist, queer, masculinity, and sexuality studies; and acknowledges the growing interdisciplinary impact of these fields. Entries are written in an approachable and accessible manner and include a short bibliography and a list of cross-references.

2. Trial Access to JSTOR Sustainability

Through JSTOR Sustainability, you can discover a wide range of journals, ebooks, and more than 5,400 open access research reports in the field of sustainability. The subjects of resilience and sustainability are explored broadly, covering research on environmental stresses and their impact on society.

UMaine patrons may access JSTOR Sustainability through June 30, 2021.

3. Human Dimensions of Climate Change

If you missed our Human Dimensions of Climate Change Film Series, you can still participate, watch the films, and listen to a podcast! Our seventh annual film series includes media that highlight the ways that multiple stakeholders have faced, and/or tried to address, climate impacts. The resources in the guide also highlight the implications of climate change for future generations. The series was organized by Jen Bonnet (Fogler Library) and Cindy Isenhour (Anthropology Department). Please send any questions to Jen Bonnet at jenbonnet@maine.edu.

The 2021 Human Dimensions of Climate Change Film Series was sponsored by UMaine’s Anthropology Department, Climate Change Institute, Department of Communication and Journalism, Fogler Library, and the School of Marine Sciences.

4. Hot Topics: Plastics and the Environment
