New Fogler Library website
Fogler Library is excited to announce the launch of its new website on July 11. The redesigned site aims to improve access to resources, streamline navigation, and better support the needs of students, faculty, and researchers.
As with any major update, there may be a few issues as we transition to the new page design. We kindly ask for your patience as we identify and fix any problems that arise after the launch.
We also value your input! A feedback survey will be available soon after the site goes live, and we have addressed any major issues.

UMaine Libraries working toward Sustainable Library Certification
The Sustainable Libraries Initiative (SLI) provides library leaders with a proven path forward to co-create libraries and communities that will thrive in the coming years. UMaine Libraries is taking part in the Sustainable Libraries Initiative Certification with the goal of enabling our libraries to become more environmentally sound, socially equitable and economically feasible.
One of the many ways our libraries are working toward sustainability is by supporting responsible e-waste disposal. While the UMS Computer Replacement Program manages e-waste recycling for university-owned devices, we are promoting give IT. get IT., a Maine-based organization that provides secure and environmentally conscious recycling options for your personal technology. give IT. get IT. has kindly shared flyers tailored to our Black Bear community. To learn more about their work, visit giveitgetit.org and watch this video.

Fogler librarian organizes and moderates forum at the American Library Association Annual Conference
On June 27, Maine Shared Collections Cooperative Librarian and University Archivist Matthew Revitt organized and moderated the Print Archive Network (PAN) forum at the American Library Association Annual Conference held in Philadelphia.
The PAN forum was attended by around 80 librarians interested in subjects related to a library practice known as shared print, whereby libraries commit to retain specific materials in collections to ensure they remain accessible for the long-term. The forum featured expert library practitioners sharing their experiences of working on library shared print projects, including representatives from the Eastern Academic Scholars’ Trust, US Government Publishing Office, HathiTrust, and OCLC (formerly the Online Computer Library Center).
