Cataloging: Special Collections Maine State Documents

Purpose: To give an overview and procedures for the processing of Maine State Documents.


Cataloging
Standing orders are checked in by Serials and then added by Cataloging staff.  All other materials go to Special Collections for processing.  Materials are returned for original cataloging as needed.

Classification
Special Collections staff applies classification numbers whether materials are added or newly cataloged.

NOTE: Label print dialog in Sierra will not format the label properly and will require manual adjustment.

Multiple Copies
Copy 2, etc. may circulate.
Note: The Special Collections Dept. does not currently barcode Copy 1 of any state document.
