Binding: Procedures for Partial or Split Volumes

Purpose: To process incomplete serial volumes or split volumes due to a change in title, numbering, or format.

When splitting a volume, use one of the following criteria (in order of preference):

“Lacks 1-2” is permitted rather than “Lacks nos. 1-2” unless more than 1 vol. is bound together, in which case state “Lacks vol. 2, nos. 1-2.”
