Cohen's Hancock Street
Visit this online exhibit of photographs and
information about a
poem written by William S. Cohen titled "Hancock Street," published
in Of Sons and Seasons in 1978. The poem provides a
vivid glimpse of a Bangor, Maine, neighborhood and the the urban
renewal movement of the 1970s.

Cohen, Congress and Controversy Exhibit
This exhibit was designed to travel to libraries
and schools throughout the second congressional district of Maine. Although we are no longer actively scheduling exhibit
locations, this could be arranged for those interested. |
Forum Series
Beginning in 2003, the Forums have served as a biennial
conference where topics from the William S. Cohen Papers are
discussed within the context of current events.

2010 Transparency Forum
The Forum that took place on Friday, November 12
included discussions about the meaning and implications of
transparency for governmental institutions, organizations,
and
individuals.

2007 Cohen / Woodward Events
In 2007, The Cohen Center for International Policy
and Commerce joined with Fogler Library to host Bob Woodward of
The Washington Post, combining the Lecture and Forum series
events for the year. |

2005
Energy Forum
The 2005 Forum focused on The Promise of Energy
Independence: Examining national policy and regional action. Speakers
offered both a national and statewide perspective on efficiency and
the development of alternative sources of energy. |

2003 Reporter's Privilege Forum
In 2003, the Forum was titled The Media Threatened?
Protecting the Free Flow of Information. The topic extended
from legislation proposed in 1973 by then Representative Bill Cohen
to create a national shield law to provide partial protection for journalists
subpoenaed to disclose their news sources. |
In addition to the Forum series, the
William S. Cohen Center for International Policy and Commerce
organizes a Lecture Series. More information about the Lecture Series is available through the
UMaine School of Policy and International Affairs.
