Minsky Jewish Heritage Video Collection
About the collection
The Minsky Jewish Heritage Video Collection is part of Foger Library’s media collection, thanks to a gift from the Minsky Judaic Studies Fund, supported by the families of Norman Minsky and Leonard Renee Minksy of Bangor.
Faculty member Laura Lindenfield submitted the grant to the New York-base Charles H. Revson Foundation, which required matching funds from local donors. The collection is one of only two in Maine (the other is located at the Jewish Federation of Southern Maine) and serves as an important state resource in furthering the understanding of Judaism and Jewish life, history, and culture.
The Minsky Jewish Heritage Video Collection is listed in the online LibrarySearch catalog an housed in Circulation Media-Reserve in Fogler Library. Titles remaining in the collection as of 2020 are listed below, including feature films, children’s programs, foreign and Yiddish classics, television programs, and documentaries. Also, several educational guides are available for use in courses or group study settings.
