R for Beginners Workshop

February 8, 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

| Free

R is a widely used language and environment for managing, graphing, and analyzing data of all forms (e.g., spatial, quantitative, and qualitative). R continues to evolve and has a large – and growing – base of users. R is very useful for a range of purposes, and this workshop will provide an introduction and demonstration of some of its capabilities.

This session of the Fogler Library Workshop Series is presented in collaboration with UMaine’s Advanced Computing Group, which provides computing infrastructure and support for the research needs of the state of Maine.

If you would prefer to attend online instead, please contact acg@maine.edu.

About the Presenter
Professor Aaron Weiskittel is the Acting Director for the Center for Research on Sustainable Forests, which is leading efforts to use “big data” to improve forest management in the region. Aaron has used R since its early beginnings and has helped several students learn the program.
